The brief
Bring Aravelle and the world of The Last Daughter of Heaven into a cinematic trailer. The creative brief called for a damp, misty Hoh Rainforest, the interior of Auntie June’s shop and a protagonist whose appearance would remain consistent across the story’s changing environments.
The approach
The film builds through atmosphere before the awakening breaks the stillness. Cool forest lighting and natural sound establish the setting; glowing runes, golden eyes and skin-lit radiance mark the change in Aravelle’s power. Visual refinement focused on her features and the effects surrounding that transformation. The edit uses layered sound, silence and drifting ash to shape the emotional aftermath.
The film
RogueRise combined visual production, animation, shot refinement, editing and atmospheric sound design. The scream’s mixture of grief and rage anchors the transformation, while Cinzel typography gives the closing book presentation a consistent visual treatment.
