The brief
Create a cinematic trailer for Tom Turner’s Palm Beach Poison, introducing Charlie Crawford and the atmosphere of the Palm Beach mystery. The production needed a consistent central character and a clear sense of place, with a poolside water-moccasin sequence forming part of the visual brief.
The approach
Character and environment development came before the assembled film, giving the author a chance to review the visual direction. The production then combined cinematic imagery with dark narration, music and Foley. Rather than relying on a sequence of unrelated images, the edit used the recurring lead and location details to hold the trailer together. Revision work refined the selection of shots and the spacing of narration, making room for the mystery to build.
The film
RogueRise handled visual production, editing, sound and finishing. The recurring detective, poolside danger and Palm Beach setting give the film its identity, while pauses in the narration leave space for the mystery to build.
