The brief
Introduce Artificial Underworld, the first book in The Whirlpool Effect series, through a trailer that balances the scale of hard science fiction with its human stakes. The client supplied a voiceover script, character references and a detailed vision for Argo, the story’s artificial cylindrical world.
The approach
World development was central to the production. The work explored Argo’s curved landscape, its central structure and the relationship between architectural scale and readable movement. Character visualization carried recurring figures through the film, while interface imagery and atmospheric sound supported the shift from wonder to unease. The creative challenge was to make a complex setting understandable in a moving sequence without losing the quieter, personal moments in the script.
The film
RogueRise translated the supplied material into animated scenes, assembled the trailer and shaped its sound and finish. The approximately 2:10 widescreen film introduces Artificial Underworld, Part One of The Whirlpool Effect, through Argo’s monumental scale and the characters who inhabit it.
